Role Purpose & Accountabilities 
We are seeking a Data Warehouse Development Manager to join our China Exams Systems team. This role is pivotal in designing, building, and maintaining robust data warehouse solutions and data marts that consolidate vast information from diverse sources. Your primary objective is to ensure data reliability, accessibility, and timeliness, ultimately empowering the business to make informed, data-driven decisions.

As part of the China Exams team, you will provide essential IT solutions and digitalization services to support our exam operations. You will collaborate closely with external consulting vendors and cross-functional teams to integrate data into our enterprise infrastructure. 

Your core responsibilities include developing ETL pipelines, managing data models, and ensuring data integrity through rigorous quality controls. You will leverage company-approved AI tools to streamline data engineering, including SQL development and code review, while ensuring all AI-generated outputs are thoroughly tested for performance and security. Furthermore, you will maintain system stability, troubleshoot performance issues, and provide technical guidance to business analysts and data scientists. By documenting data assets and translating complex business requirements into technical specifications, you will play a key role in driving our business intelligence capabilities. Qualifications & Experience:
•    The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required.
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications in data warehousing technologies and tools are advantageous.
•    Proactively leverage AI across end to end data warehouse workflows to boost development and optimisation efficiency.
•    3+ years hands on data warehouse development experience, covering data modelling, ETL pipeline build out and data warehouse strategy design.
•    Solid track record delivering complex data integration projects aligned with business needs; proficient in SQL and database design. Hands on experience with ETL tools (e.g. Azure Data Factory) and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) is highly desirable.
•    Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities to troubleshoot data issues and continuously optimise warehouse solutions.
•    Good sense of business and operation logic, good communication skill and teamwork spirit.
•    Ability to drive issues to a robust closure in a timely manner.
