Role Purpose:

This role is a key frontline ambassador for the British Council, providing exceptional administrative and customer support across Customer Service, Exams, and the Teaching Centre. You will help deliver an outstanding experience for every customer, drive strong registrations and sales that contribute to our financial targets, and inspire prospective learners by arranging placement tests, consultations, and trial or demo lessons. Working within a proactive, supportive, and target‑driven team, you will play a vital part in achieving sales goals, KPIs, and annual business objectives—while ensuring our reputation for excellence shines through in every interaction.
 
Accountabilities: 

In this role, you will deliver exceptional customer support by responding to inbound and outbound calls, chats, emails, and social media enquiries in line with British Council service standards and KPIs. You will raise interest in our courses and exams by inviting customers to take placement tests, consultations, or attend events, while ensuring all interactions are accurately recorded in the CRM for full visibility of customer history and sales performance. You’ll maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing clear, accurate information and proactively following up on bookings, registrations, and appointments to ensure a smooth and positive customer journey.

Alongside customer support, you will play a key role in driving sales performance—meeting targets, administering placement tests, delivering consultations, and guiding prospects from first enquiry to successful registration. You will promote, cross‑sell, and support British Council products, conduct after‑sales follow‑ups, and make outbound calls to maximise conversions and retention. The role also involves maintaining strong product knowledge, ensuring accurate use of systems and databases, supporting income collection, and collaborating with colleagues to deliver events and activities such as Open Days and Parent Evenings. You may also be assigned additional operational tasks that contribute to the smooth and effective running of the Centre.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Good command of English and Spanish languages
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Selling skills (confident and effective in up-selling and cross-selling)

Desirable:

  • Tele-sales experience 
  • Face to face sales experience 
  • Education sector experience 
  • Knowledge of CRM
