Role Purpose

Play a key role in keeping things running smoothly by supporting the day-to-day operations of the Buenos Aires Remote Teaching Centre (RTC). You’ll provide essential administrative, financial, and logistical support for the centre and for home-based projects delivered by British Council Argentina.

Main accountabilities but not limited to the following

  • Perform administrative tasks associated with remote teaching projects, including, but not limited to: monitoring, reporting and inputting cancellations and rescheduled classes into systems daily; preparing Daily Teaching Registers; assigning teaching points; keeping and reconciling daily records of taught hours; preparing teacher claim forms; preparing reports as required; keeping records of training.
  • Managing the use of teaching points and ensuring classes are held on time.
  • Solve any issues that affect the normal delivery of remote lessons, including liaising with local and overseas technical teams in case of technical issues or broadband interruptions.
  • Scheduling of classes and reschedules.
  • Securing substitutions.
  • Liaising with hourly-paid and full-time teachers for availability.
  • Providing reports on attendance to customers and RTC management.
  • Support in the writing of operational procedures.
  • Support smooth implementation of new clients.
  • Remote Teaching Centre opening and/or closing duties.
  • Provide support to RTC Operations Manager in the planning and implementation stages of existing non-Ceibal and new Business strategies.
  • Support the wider aims of the British Council and its cultural relations mission.
  • Provide accurate and timely administrative support services in compliance with corporate policies and local legislation.
  • Create, monitor and correct purchase orders.
  • Process incoming invoices.
  • Create vendors and request changes as needed.
  • Issue sales orders and invoices.
  • Prepare income reconciliations.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the Remote Teaching Centre premises and facilities.

Requirements of the role

  • Proven experience in the area of administration.
  • Experience of working with teams successfully.
  • Experience working as a basic user of information systems, digital and office technology.
  • Written and verbal proficiency in English at level B2 is required.
  • Education to degree level or above.
  • Education, Teaching, Business, management, or related qualification or equivalent experience.

Additional Information

  • Work on certain Argentina Public Holidays is required. Holidays are taken in accordance with Teaching Centre holiday periods.
  • Candidates are expected to live in Buenos Aires or at a commuting distance to the Remote Teaching Centre (our premises in Retiro), since the position requires to work according to the hybrid working policy.
