Join the British Council and play a key role in providing learners with a rewarding, engaging and stimulating English language learning experience. As a Teacher of English, you will contribute to our global English strategy by delivering teaching to the highest standards of English Language Teaching (ELT), supporting effective learning outcomes, and strengthening the British Council's reputation as a world authority in English language education.

In this role, you will plan, prepare and deliver high-quality English lessons for a range of learner groups, adapting your approach to different learning needs and learning styles. You will ensure teaching consistently meets British Council Global Teaching Standards, while monitoring learner progress and providing regular feedback to support achievement, independence and continuous improvement. You will actively participate in professional development and performance management activities, helping maintain excellence in teaching and staying at the forefront of best practice in ELT.

You will support local marketing and promotional activities, contribute to excellent customer service through effective communication with students, and complete teaching-related administrative tasks to agreed standards while demonstrating British Council values and behaviours.

Building positive relationships with learners, customers and colleagues will be central to your success. You will help learners understand the British Council's cultural relations role by creating opportunities to engage with UK culture, values and intercultural experiences both inside and outside the classroom.

You will be organised, adaptable, customer-focused and committed to ongoing professional development, while working collaboratively as part of a teaching team.
