Role purpose

 

To support the Head of Marketing / Senior Marketing Manager in developing and implementing the country B2O marketing strategy and plans for English and Exams (E&E), ensuring alignment with the global marketing strategy and brand, and working closely with the E&E Business to ensure marketing programmes support and deliver the required business targets.

Role Accountabilities

 

 

Strategy, Planning & Consultancy: Supports the Head of Marketing / Senior Marketing Manager in developing and executing country B2O go-to-market plans for E&E, ensuring alignment with global marketing objectives, agreed budgets and resources. Champions the deployment of the British Council brand architecture, monitors compliance and manages interventions to address non-compliance, while ensuring agreed global marketing processes are consistently implemented. Monitors, analyses and reports on B2O marketing KPIs, designs and delivers integrated 360° campaigns, adapts messaging and creative assets across audiences, contexts and platforms, and develops partnership and channel marketing plans aligned with customer needs and business goals. Applies professional marketing expertise to assess practices, identify improvements and develop solutions that drive growth and efficiency; provides country insights linked to country and global priorities; uses social listening and analytics to monitor online reputation and optimise engagement; advocates for customers within cross-functional teams; develops initiatives that improve customer experience and engagement; and maintains a clear focus on B2B audiences and market segmentation, ensuring tactical execution supports strategic brand and marketing objectives.

 

Commercial, Financial & Stakeholder Management: Supports budget management for E&E B2O marketing plans using agreed corporate systems and processes. Conducts monthly and year-end reporting on budget progress, including the management of issues and risks, while ensuring value for money and cost effectiveness in delivering plans and achieving the best results. Proactively builds strong relationships across the internal marketing network and with key stakeholders to enable integrated approaches, share knowledge and strengthen own marketing expertise.

 

Leadership, Planning & Governance: Plans and prioritises own activities to ensure effective delivery of country marketing activities across monthly, quarterly and annual time horizons. Shares intelligence, experience and ideas with the Head of Marketing / Senior Marketing Manager to support improvements in operational efficiency and effectiveness. Ensures compliance with corporate and governance policies, including the responsible and ethical use of AI tools.

 

 

Qualification and Experience 

 

 

Essentials

 

 

  • Relevant degree e.g. marketing, or equivalent level of experience
  • Experience in a marketing position at a national level within a medium to large organisation.
  • Demonstrable experience of developing marketing strategies and plans
  • Demonstrable experience in managing supplier relationships
  • Stakeholder engagement and management

 

Desirables

 

  • Relevant external professional organisations e.g. CIM, Melcrum, GCN, CIPR, WOMMA etc. (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in a global organisation
  • Experience in a relevant sector or industry e.g. education, Exams
