Contract Type: 1 year Fixed-term Contract, with the possibility of extension 

Start date: 1st August 2025, subject to the completion of required checks and clearances 

Location:  Jakarta, Indonesia

Salary: Starting from IDR 6,670,000 per month

Closing Date: 22nd June 2025

You must have the legal right to work in Indonesia at the time of application.
There is no relocation or sponsorship support.

 

Role Purpose:

This role sits within the Cultural Engagement (CE) Strategic Business Unit (SBU). The Programme Coordinator is responsible for supporting the programme team in the implementation of programmes and projects in compliance with British Council policies and procedures including financial admin, reporting and data collection, operational project delivery and managing relations with delivery partners.

 

Accountabilities/Responsibilities: 

Managing Self and Others

  • Hold vendors and suppliers accountable for delivering agreed services.
  • Work independently and manage your workload to meet project deadlines.

Financial Support

  • Support project financial planning, budgeting, expenditure tracking, and forecasting for Programme Managers and the Head of Programme Delivery.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records in line with audit requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure timely payment processing in accordance with SAP Finance (FABS) guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with British Council financial policies and procedures.

Project Management

  • Handle project data: enter information on time, check data quality, perform basic analysis, and prepare reports to meet funder requirements.
  • Support internal compliance processes, including due diligence, records management, and data storage.
  • Oversee grant administration, including selection, evaluation, and procurement processes.
  • Organise and manage training sessions and event-based components of programmes.
  • Assist Project/Programme Managers in implementing diversity and inclusion action plans.

Relationship and Stakeholder Management

  • Build and manage effective relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders at the appropriate level.
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships and ensure service delivery standards are met.

Role specific knowledge and experience: 

Minimum / Essential Requirements

  • Experience of working in a supporting role on programmes or projects.
  • Administrative, document management and financial administration experience.
  • Good understanding of basic concepts of monitoring and evaluation, and how they are central to good project management
  • Confident user of information technology (Word; Excel; PowerPoint), Microsoft 365 functionality

 

Desirable Requirements

  • Able to manage delivery of digital events on basic platforms (Microsoft Teams) and face to face events ensuring all corporate standards are met, including those for accessibility and safeguarding
  • Working knowledge of British Council SAP system (or similar software)

Education and Qualification

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent relevant experience

Language Requirement:

  • The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English (B2) is required.
