Role context

Content Commissioning Officer will be an integral part of the team accountable for the design, development, and performance management of the digital and analogue products that enable the [For Schools / Higher Education / Work] propositions. They ensure the right product mix, quality, and innovation to support the strategic direction set by the Proposition Directors. This team ensures products are commercially viable, scalable, and aligned with technology, delivery, and customer needs. |

Main accountabilities |
|
Content and Asset Management
· Working with Learning Designers, Content Creation teams, and product managers, supports processes for the secure storage, retrieval, and version management for content and assets related to English language learning and assessment products. · Applies appropriate metatags to all assets, uses the approved platforms for storage, and supports appropriate access to assets to maximise security and minimise risk of loss of British Council or Third party intellectual property. · Supports procurement and contracting of third party asset suppliers, and monitors that British Council asset use is compliant with the terms of any contract in terms of type of use, number of impressions etc. · Supports the supply of assets to internal customers for various use cases. · Supports the monitoring of assessment items to adhere to minimum item health and security standards · Works with Content and Asset Manager to promote best practice around intellectual property in the E&E business · Assists in ensuring that assets used by the British Council put the British Councils approach to equality, diversity and inclusion and anti-racism into practice through the diversity of subjects represented, and taking into account accessibility requirements.
Project management / Commercial and resource management
· Uses tools, systems, supporting documentation and processes with the teams to support best practice around content and asset storage and usage · Assists in monitoring and reporting on schedules and progress; budgets, forecasted and actual costs; and resourcing for projects requiring assets
Customer and market focus
· Responds to issues and requests raised by stakeholders in a timely and appropriate manner.
Risk and compliance
· Uses approved tools and systems to manage activity · Supports internal monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to maintain effective publishing procedures.
Relationship and stakeholder management
· Maintains regular and effective communication and smooth working relationships with colleagues and external suppliers.

· Plans and prioritises own work activities to ensure effective delivery of diverse responsibilities and programme deliverables.

Language Requirements |

Written and verbal fluency in English. |

Certification and Professional Qualifications |

Project management qualification (Prince2, Agile, or similar) - Desirable |

First degree or equivalent qualification |

Minimum / essential requirements
· Experience of content and asset management in the area of digital or print product and/or test development · Full time residency in the UK or Poland with unlimited right to work |

· Experience of professional ELT or educational publishing · Experience of English language teaching and/or assessment · Experience of coordinating, communicating and collaborating with large, dispersed teams and remote working |
