Role Purpose:

To support the planning and delivery of UK examinations to enable the British Council to achieve its objectives by ensuring quality and compliance standards are met and the highest levels of service are offered to both internal and external customers.

 

Main Accountabilities:

The British Council is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Executive Exam Operations to support the efficient and secure delivery of examinations in Mumbai. This role plays a vital part in ensuring smooth exam operations across logistics, test day planning, post-test activities, and staff and examiner allocation. You will contribute to the operational excellence of our Distribution and examination services by planning and executing processes in line with India Exams, global, and board-specific procedures.

In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring all exams-related materials, information, and data are stored securely and handled in full compliance with organisational standards. You will support pre- and post-test activities, coordinate operational resources with an awareness of seasonal demands, and provide accurate financial information when required. A key part of your role will involve maintaining service timelines, adhering to customer service standards, and ensuring that all tasks align with British Council guidelines, including financial controls, security, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, data protection, and quality compliance requirements.

The role requires coordination with internal teams, customers, and vendors to address first-level queries and support seamless exam delivery. You will work proactively to ensure operations are conducted efficiently, especially during peak periods, and that all required procedures are met to maintain the integrity and quality of exam delivery. You will also provide support to the wider Exams Operations team to ensure consistent and reliable performance across all stages of the exam cycle.

Qualification and Experience/skills:

- Graduate degree in any discipline

- 1 year of experience in Operations

- Excellent written and spoken English

 

Work Schedule: This position involves working within shift-based schedules between 08:00 and 20:00. The weekly rota covers five days and may follow a Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday pattern, with occasional Sunday work depending on operational needs.

Right to Work: Applications are welcomed from candidates in India, with a natural right to work. However, please note candidates must have a natural right to work in the country, on a permanent basis, as immigration clearance and/or on-going visa support is not provided by the British Council for this role. Relocation support is also not provided.
