Role purpose:

We are looking for passionate educators to provide a rewarding and stimulating English language learning experience, ensure high-quality teaching and effective learning, and contribute to the British Council’s mission of building cultural connections worldwide

 

Main Accountabilities:

As a teacher, you will plan and deliver high-quality English lessons tailored to diverse learner needs, ensuring alignment with British Council Global Teaching Standards. You'll monitor progress, provide feedback, and encourage learner autonomy while engaging in ongoing professional development. Beyond the classroom, you'll contribute to teaching centre activities, course development, and customer service, supporting local marketing efforts and maintaining strong relationships with students and colleagues. You will uphold all administrative, safeguarding, and compliance policies, and actively promote Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in all aspects of your work

 

Qualifications and Experience:
Essentials:

  • Undergraduate degree (any discipline)
  • High proficiency in English i.e. full mastery of English across all four skills equivalent to user (CEFR C2)
  • 2 years post-certificate i.e. CELTA or Trinity cert TESOL experience in teaching relevant age groups:
    • Primary aged 6 to 10 (200+ hours)
    • Lower Secondary aged 11 to 14 (200+ hours)
    • Upper Secondary aged 15 to 17 (200+ hours)
    • Adults General English 18+ (800+ hours)


Desirables:

  • Recognised diploma in EFL e.g. DELTA; Relevant Young Learner qualification
  • 2 years post-certificate i.e. CELTA or Trinity cert TESOL experience in teaching relevant age groups:
  • Early Years aged 4 to 5 (50+hours)
  • Corporate teaching – closed groups and one to one

 

Important information:

  • Salary and benefit: from 38,614 CZK gross monthly depending on qualifications and teaching experienc
  • Teaching hours: 21 hours per week
  • Working schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Travel might be required to off-site teaching premises within city.
  • Paid annual leave: 30 days per calendar year
  • Medical insurance: local state health insurance
  • Other benefit: meal vouchers (issued monthly) and vouchers for free time activities (issued annually).
  • Right to work: only open to local candidate and EU Citizens
