Right to Work: Applications are welcomed from candidates in Korea with a natural right to work. Role Purpose:

This role ensures the secure and efficient delivery of examinations within a small or remote exams office. It involves handling confidential materials in line with compliance standards, managing test delivery and venue supervisors, resolving risks or issues, and coordinating customer communications. The role acts as the main point of contact for venues on test days and requires weekend working as part of contracted hours.

 

Main Accountabilities:

The British Council is seeking an Exams Operations Officer in Korea to support the secure, efficient and high-quality delivery of examinations at test centre level. The role is responsible for planning and delivering Test Days in line with British Council processes, working closely with cluster operations teams to organise resources, monitor performance and respond effectively to short-notice operational requirements.

The post holder will support all aspects of confidential materials handling, including the operation of the Confidential Materials Room, secure storage, packing, reconciliation and return of exam materials in line with compliance standards. The role also supports venue and Test Day resource planning, including the engagement and performance management of venue staff, and ensuring venues, equipment and materials are fully prepared.

On Test Days, the Exams Operations Officer will manage or support Test Day Supervisors to ensure exams are delivered to required customer service, security and administration standards. This includes venue inspections, staff briefings, accurate record keeping, issue resolution, incident reporting and safeguarding candidate wellbeing.

The role provides customer support by responding to enquiries, recognising risks to service delivery and escalating issues when required. Strong relationship and stakeholder management is essential, acting as a key point of contact for venue staff and working closely with colleagues across the British Council.

Risk, compliance, analysis and reporting are central to the role, alongside managing small-scale resources and coordinating others to deliver tasks efficiently. As part of the British Council’s new Global Operating Model for Exams, this role will help embed new systems and ways of working, adapting quickly to unforeseen situations to ensure successful Test Day delivery.

- Experience working in a busy operational environment delivering high levels of customer service.
