The British Council is seeking an Exams Assistant to ensure the smooth, secure, and efficient delivery of examinations within a designated location. This role is essential in supporting all stages of the exam cycle, including pre-exam preparation, test day operations, and post-exam processing. You will act as the main point of contact for venues and Venue Supervisors on test days, managing relationships with venue staff and examiners while ensuring high standards of performance and service.

You will be responsible for the safe handling and movement of confidential materials in accordance with compliance standards, including activities related to the Confidential Materials Room. Your duties will also include preparing all necessary test day materials such as stationery, uniforms, banners, and IT equipment, and ensuring that British Council-owned resources are available and ready for use.

Post-exam responsibilities include scanning and submitting exam papers for marking, inputting results into awarding body platforms, processing enquiries on results, and managing the dispatch of certificates. You will also support financial processes such as raising purchase orders and processing invoices, and handle daily enquiries across various communication channels.

In this role, you will be expected to identify and escalate complex issues, proactively address incidents that may impact service delivery, and contribute to continuous improvement in efficiency and quality. You will play a key part in ensuring a positive customer experience by providing accurate information, resolving operational complaints, and supporting external communication needs.

Qualifications and experience
Minimum / essential
•    Experience in identifying and minimising risk.
•    Experience in compliance environment 
•    Experience of working in a high volume, busy operational environment, delivering to standard

•    Fluent Bulgarian
•    English language skills to the CEF B2 level
Desirable
•    Experience of supporting on delivery of computer-based exams
 

Additional job requirements 
•    The post may require work on some weekends and travel around Bulgaria for administrative support to the exams’ delivery. 

•    The post is full -time and in-office presence is required.

Salary: 1 800 BGN gross/monthly + additional benefits
Additional Requirements: The successful candidate must have a pre-existing right to live and work full time in Bulgaria.
