Role Purpose

The English Course Consultant is responsible for achieving strong sales and delivering high-quality customer service. As a British Council ambassador, the Consultant must meet all KPIs and support the organization’s sales and customer service goals.

 

Main Accountabilities

The English Course Consultant is responsible for meeting and exceeding all sales targets and KPIs set by the organization. Acting as the single point of contact for prospects, the Consultant guides them from initial inquiry to final sale, maximizing cross-selling opportunities and being accountable for monthly sales performance. They are also expected to follow up with potential customers who have not registered after consultations or placement tests, offering alternative solutions and encouraging registration.

As part of the broader Sales and Customer Services team, the Consultant supports colleagues to ensure smooth operations at the Centre. Maintaining a high level of product knowledge is essential, requiring proactive engagement with product owners for training and updates. Similarly, the Consultant must stay informed about pricing, discounts, and promotional offers through regular liaison with sales and business managers, contributing feedback from frontline experiences.

Accurate and timely maintenance of databases and reports is a key responsibility. The Consultant also participates in sales and marketing events, both within and outside the Centre, to raise awareness and generate leads. They may be required to submit daily revenue records to Finance and ensure compliance with British Council policies related to finance, HR, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and Safeguarding. Proper management of CRM records and adherence to data protection standards are also expected.

Additional duties include following Standard Operating Procedures, supporting team operations as assigned by the Line Manager, and participating in professional development and training programs. Full engagement with the performance management process is required. The Consultant must work effectively with diversity, aligning with the British Council’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion standards in all interactions.

Finally, the Consultant is expected to demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development, actively seeking opportunities to enhance their skills and qualifications. They should contribute positively to team discussions and offer suggestions for improving sales and customer management practices based on customer feedback.

 

Qualifications & Experience
Essential

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Cross Sales techniques 
  • Competent IT skills 
  • Excel Skills 
  • Effective communication and engagement with children and their families  Experience of working in a customer service/sales environment, preferably in the services industry

 

Desirable

  • Qualification in Language/Hospitality/Sales or Business Management
  • Knowledge of SAP & CRM

  • Pay Band: 4 
  • Contract Type: Indefinite
  • Location: Xin Yi Road, Taiwan
  • Language Requirement: Good written and oral communication skills in Mandarin and English catering to target market. Proficiency in a second language preferred.
  • Right to Work: Candidates are expected to have researched whether they have the right to live and work in the country in which the role is based. Work permit and visa will not be sponsored by British Council for this role.
