Role Purpose & Accountabilities: 
We are seeking a Marketing Manager to join our team and drive impactful marketing strategies for English across our cluster and country. Working closely with the Cluster Marketing Lead, you will develop and execute marketing plans aligned with regional and global strategies, ensuring they support business growth and the British Council’s objectives.


Your role will involve planning and implementing go-to-market strategies, deploying campaigns across diverse channels, and ensuring consistent brand application. You will analyse market trends, identify improvement opportunities, and design innovative approaches to enhance marketing effectiveness.


With expertise in digital marketing tools like Facebook, Google, and Google Analytics, you will maximise campaign impact and audience engagement. You will also champion brand compliance, monitor KPIs, and provide professional advice to ensure local marketing efforts align with global standards.


This role requires strong commercial acumen to manage budgets, report progress, and deliver cost-effective outcomes. Building relationships with stakeholders and participating in the Marketing Community of Practice will be key to fostering collaboration and integrated approaches.

Requirements:
•    The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required. Fluency in Chinese Mandarin is also required.
•    Undergraduate degree (Relevant degree e.g. marketing or equivalent)

 

Role specific knowledge and experience:
Minimum/essential
•    Experience in a marketing position at a national level within a medium to large organisation.
•    Demonstrable experience of developing marketing strategies and plans
•    Demonstrable experience in managing supplier relationships
•    Stakeholder engagement and management
Desirable
•    Experience in a global organisation 
•    Experience in a relevant sector or industry e.g. education, English teaching
