Role Purpose:
The British Council seeks an energetic and customer-focused Consultant to drive sales and deliver exceptional service for our English language programmes. You will handle enquiries, guide new and existing students through their learning journey, and ensure a seamless, high-quality customer experience. As our ambassador, you will achieve and exceed sales and performance targets, including consultation attendance, conversion, and re-registration rates, while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction. Main accountabilities but not limited to the following:
In this role, you will play a key part in driving sales through new registrations and re-registrations while ensuring every customer receives a first-class experience. You will provide both face-to-face and online consultations, identify customer needs, recommend suitable courses, and guide prospects from initial enquiry to final enrolment. You will take ownership of your sales performance, proactively communicate the unique value of our courses, and work to maximize enrolment, conversion, and retention while minimizing refunds.
You will also handle customer service interactions across various channels, ensuring that all enquiries, feedback, and complaints are managed professionally and promptly. Your role will involve supporting events and promotions, maintaining accurate records, and providing follow-up services to ensure student satisfaction and re-engagement. As a point of contact for both new and existing students, you will help manage their study journeys and foster long-term relationships through excellent service and clear communication.
The position requires strong product and offer knowledge, proficiency in systems such as CRM and TCMS, and the ability to support administrative, operational, and project-based tasks within the Teaching Centre. You will collaborate closely with colleagues to ensure the centre’s smooth operation, participating in events such as Open Days and promotional activities. Success in this role demands effective sales techniques, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, data analysis skills, and fluency in both Japanese and English.

Qualification, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum University degree
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Japanese and English
- Experience of working in a customer service/sales environment (and/or in the same industry)
- Working experience in language institution or education organization
